My doctor checked my immunogolbulin levels and everything was within normal limits except the IG E. and it was 1.5 and should be between 5.0 and 103.0! l am not sure what this means but l would really like to know! Thanks

You r correct that an IgE level of 1.5 is low. IgE is usually used to cause allergy, to respond appropriately & excessively to allergens, & to respond to parasites. The results of low IgE r generally not known, like many other things in medicine. However, if ur other immunoglobulins r normal, it is unlikely a serious condition. l disagree with the above answer that stated that u should take vitamins & minerals to try to fix this. Although they may be indicated for another reason, it is not clear at this time that it will affect ur immunoglobulin level, & high levels of any drug, including vitamins, can be toxic.
