l felt feverish all evening and had aches in my hands and feet and then around 10 l started getting the shakes and chills so bad l was scared to go to try and go to sleep. When l tested my sugar l was within normal range but l did drop 15 points within 20 minutes l was queasy in my stomach and could not eat so l just ate 1/2 of an apple just in case l was dropping too low.It had been over 12 hours since l had taken any medication (metformin). When l woke up this morning l felt fine, better than normal even.Any clues what this could have been?(l am going to see my doctor also, was just curious if this sounded familiar to anyone.)

That could be indicative of an infection of some kind (fever, chills, nausia).

That does not sound diabetes related. Flu season is upon us, any chance that is what you have?

l get the chills & so so cold really bad when my sugar drops down so bad some times that l have to stand in the sun for an hour ( l live in California, with 100F degrees!)
It does not have to be to low just drops to fast.
Make sure you tell your Doctor what happened, it could be other reasons, like an infection but really sounds like its just from the diabetes it self.
Good Luck

If you become sick like that and are worried about your sugars crashing, try sipping on a regular soda.
It will keep you hydrated and give you some sugar to keep your sugars up.
We all get sick from time to time.
It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about a ''sick day protocol ''.
It is important that we all have them.
Glad you are feeling better.
