sickly a few hours before he took his shot, then almost immediately after he took his insulin, he PUKED....not a little bit,but ALOT!Now he is feeling better, but l have a 6 month old baby and l am wondering if this is common for diabetic is or if this could possibly be the flu considering one of his employee is was complaining of throwing up all day, but my boyfriend was only around him for 10 minutes and hasnt been around him for the past 5 hours..... Is this the flu or a diabetic reaction????

CHECK HIS BLOOD SUGAR.. IF IT IS OK, HE PROBABLY HAS A LITTLE FLU

It is NOT common. Having him check his blood sugar, as an extremely high sugar can make you physically ill. However, taking insulin does not lead to immediate vomiting. He may very well have the flu.

Diabetic reaction

Diabetic recaction does not cause puking, flu is more likely since its contagious even for a 10 minute exposure.
Your boyfriend moreover had a bout of hypoglycemia since he threw up & his insulin must have lowered his blood sugar way low...hence he must have felt cold.
He needs to eat well, consume vitamins, & in case of flu, rest & antibiotics will do the trick.
Make sure in the future he always has a pack of glucose with him at all times coz such ppl. r more prone to hypoglycemia after insulin therapy.

His insulin might not have anything to do with the vomiting since u say the flu is going around which he very much needs to see a doctor for.

If it is not the flu then if he recently changed to a new insulin, it might be interfering with his stomach & causing nausea.

There is a few other things l will like u to check out that is common in diabetics & also what l would suggest he talk to his doctor about.

Diabetic Ketoacidosis & Gastroenteritis.

Here r the links that l think he & u should read up on.

Sounds more like flu than insulin.

BUT . . . . Any illness will causeblood sugars to go high.

he needs to contact his doctor immediately and determine the best course of action.
