l have a sister that has diabetes, im really hoping that scientists will find a cure very soon.

l hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here it goes.

Can you think of the last disease that scientists have found a cure for ? l cant either. There is no money to be made in cures only in treatment.

They have experimented with some success in transplanting a pancreas and they also have insulin pumps that work like an electronic pancreas without as much intervention from the user, like in a regular insulin pump.

FWIW, it is a long, long time til they find a cure.

Unfortunately there is no cure in sight, there r just better & more effective ways to manage it & control it, eventually the cure may come in the form of stem cell research.

As for ur sister she can lead a perfectly normal life with a few restrictions that will come in the form of life style changes such as eating properly, exercising & taking her medications if applicable but it will only happen if she decides to take this seriously & becomes a compliant diabetic.

Everyday a diabetic goes without treatment whether it be not eating properly, not exercising or not taking their meds, is a day that damage is occurring to their bodies/with or without symptoms.

A doctor or other health care professional can only give advice & prescribe meds.. it is the diabetic patient that is in charge of taking care of this disease.

I've been a diabetic for 15 years. Trying to determine when scientists will find a cure for diabetes is akin to determining when God will return to rapture the church.it may happen tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.50 years from now!? Only God & time will tell.

The Bible says that in the end of times, doctors will find cures for many diseases. We see more & more cures everyday, so l feel that his return will be sooner than we think.when God comes back, those who've made the decision to follow him, wo not worry about a cure.we will be cured as we meet Jesus in the air! Either way, whether cured by science or God, we will be cured one day!

Do not worry, Darlin', you've got many, many people praying with u for God to bless us with a cure. Until then, stay steadfast in ur faith & claim the cure & healings from the Lord.
