he should as diabetic normally lose weight
but let her exercise regularly as it is so good for his diabetic and health and will make him lose weight

He will if he sticks to the diet, my partner was diagnosed last year and takes metformin pills, on his last doctor visit they put it up as his sugars were high and he lost no weight, l was recently diagnosed with type 2 and cut down in sugars etc and have lose 4lb in 4 weeks.

Stick to a healthy diet with lots of fibre. Exercise is important - walking is a really great form of exercise, get him a pedometer and aim for around 7,000 to 10,000 steps a day (assuming he is otherwise healthy).
Talk to your doctor together. S/he can also refer you to a good dietitian who can give you both very specific diet information based on your husband is condition and lifestyle.

Many diabetics have a hard time losing weight, but it can be done. You must limit the amount of carbs u eat at each meal & increase ur exercise. Normally a dietitian will tell u that ur meals should consist of 45 grams per meal. That is 3 items per meal that r 15 carbs. Meat does not have carbs, just make sure it is a lean cut & not fried. Two snacks a day r allowed but cannot be more than 15 grams of carbs each. If u learn to count carbs, it makes it very easy to lose weight. Walking each day for at least 30 to 45 minutes will also help lose weight & keep ur blood sugar readings down. You can also get the South Beach diet & start with phase two. It is a good healthy diet for diabetics & many nutritionists will recommend it for their patients that r diabetic.
