ok so heres the deal. l used to never drink alot of water wen l was a little kid. then wen l hit around 11 years old l started drinking alot ofwater bcuz l heard it was good for your skin. l also noticed that l sweat alot and was always hot. my doctor told me l just had really good blood circulation. ive noticed for years. im now 21 that l was always thirsty. had kinda a dry mouth. always craving water. l was checked for diabetes last summer and again this past summer. so thats checked twice in a one year period. both came back negative. l run very warm so l kind of sweat alot. im also really hyper so l talk alot and stuff. l have mild anxiety as well. l just dont know . it sucks too bcuz the new cashier job l start next week doesnt allow ANY water at the register at all. that means ill hafta go hours without it. l dont think l can do that. ill start to feel sick if l dont drink water every half hour or so. help what should l do!

Are you absolutely certain you want this job that does not allow a bottle of water to be handy? l can understand why they do not want water near the computerized registers, but darn!! It is not at all fair to expect people to work hours on end without being able to take breaks for bathroom or water!
Keep looking for another job that is not as restrictive on your rights as a person!

Diabetes is an extremely under-diagnosed condition. It is also not a black/white yes/no condition. What is required is a very thorough glucose tolerance test as well as a battery of other tests administered by an endocrinologist who is well versed in the subtleties of the disease. Do not settle for less. You sound alot like me, except I've been there for many more years - my first supposed diabetes test was when l was 17. l am now 46 & have suffered with ''hot flashes extreme thirst, frequent urination, polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, etc. In fact, when l was undergoing treatment for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) it was not even known that there was a link to insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome. l have a good friend & next door neighbor who is a physician who does not believe in pre-diabetes. No matter, l listen to my endocrinologist, who diagnosed me when l was 42 & who says l may in fact be a full-blown diabetic. Over the last 5 years I've seen my long-suffering father finally get diagnosed & my mother move from pre-diabetic to diabetic. You need an intelligent, thorough & open-minded endocrinologist, not a family doctor or even internist unless they specialize. And let me emphasize again, a 5 hour GTT. l did not go abnormal until 3 1/2 hours into the test. Insist on getting the right doctor & be ur own advocate. And BTW, if ur endo prescribes constant water, ur boss would be a fool to deny u a medical need.. Good luck..

Sounds like you need to explain to the employer that you need lots of water and that it is important for you to keep a water bottle with you. Just promise that you will be discreet about it and not stop in the middle of a sale to suck back a gallon or two. You might also get a note from your doctor supporting you. That way, the employer will probably give you permission to have a water bottle with you. Good luck!

My job also does not allow water in work areas. Because l am diabetic and on meds for other disorders l need to drink lots of water so my doctor put that in writing for me. Because of the doctors note in my file l am allowed to keep fruit juice and water in my work area. You should see if your doctor will verify in writing that you need to have water available to you at all times.Hope this Helps.
