ummm, the modern theory of diabetes is that its about the number of calories consumed in reference to your risk for diabetes. even so Phelps has 2000 caloires from sugar energy drinks so to answer my question l guess hes a freak of nature.

In theory you could eat 50,000 calories and not get fat if you burn them all off. Diabetes has to do with types of calories consumed, in reference to amount of calories.

That man is a physical machine. He needs to calories to get the energy he needs to perform at that level. His body burns it as fast as he consumes it. Crazy, is not it? to think that a person is capable of that consistent and intense level of work.

couple issues here..

diabetes is not caused by overeating. diabetes is a resistance to insulin or no insulin production. Granted being obese can cause insulin tolerance but he burns at least that many calories a day.

Secondly, if it were from a genetic disposition (resistance) he could still be that ripped & be diabetic. the trick to diabetes is maintaining a balance. he could be diabetic & still eat 50,000 calories & be healthy if he worked out enough to maintain his blood sugar.

Please ignore the ignorant who do not understand the disease..

Because he burns SO many calories a day. He eats as much as he burns, thats why he does not gain or lose weight. He also needs the sugar/ carbs in the drinks for energy.

l used swim daily for an hour and had trouble keeping my pants up. Now l do not swim much at all and can barely get my pants on. My diet has not changed just the amount of exercise l get. l am older and my body burns calories much slower. l started to walk every morning and have begun to loose inches again. It is some what easier to get my pants on.

It is that simple.
