l know this is a question that is best consulted with a doctor but l came here to see whatwork for people. I've been trying 6 units but they are not enough. What units do you guys take per meal.

Whoa.you've just been kind of guessing all this time? You need to start counting carbs & figure out by trial & error what ur insulin-to-carb ratio is. Do u have a carb-counting book? There r also websites u can use. When u say a ''big meal that could mean a plate full of meat & just a little potato (35g of carb) or it could be a buffet meal (120g of carb or more). Your carbs determine how much insulin u take. For me, l give myself 1 unit of insulin for every 15g of carb at dinnertime (but 1 unit for every 10g at breakfast). So in other words, my dinner dose of insulin is often different every night.
