What do u mean by ''insulin stops working''?

If the patients own body stops producing insulin, then the patient is a Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetic. Insulin shots r required.

if the insulin SHOTS stop working, then there is a much more serious underlying problem. This patient needs medical treatment & hospitalization IMMEDIATELY.

A person cannot live without insulin. Insulin is the chemical that allows the sugar (fuel) to pass from the blood into the cells. Without insulin, the body will literally starve to death.

Without insulin, the body will begin to digest itself. This is called rhabdomylosis ( l think . . .). This is NOT a good sign! The result of rhabdomylosis is called ketoacidosis -- which is fatal if not properly cared for.

In detail, the ONLY steps to be taken r to get this patient to a hospital IMMEDIATELY, & then follow doctor orders.

The underlying problems of why insulin is not working must be found before the patient dies.

Cirrhosis only complicates things, making the need for hospitalization more urgent.
