l sometimes experience sores that wo not heal, and l wake up feeling ill, unless l eat something. l take different medications: Tricor, Benecar, Lipitor, Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, Effexor, and an occasional couple of Alleve, because of the physical nature of my job. What do you think?

Common signs are excessive thirst, weight loss, fatigue, feeling faint, etc. to name a few. Go to Web MD.com for more info. Also, l would review your medications with your Dr. It sounds like you are taking quite a bit.

Sores that wo not heal from diabetes take a long time to form because the blood sugar has to be extremely high for a long period. You'd probably have more obvious symptoms of diabetes before sores would start to show up. The most common symptoms of diabetes (which is the same as hyperglycemia) r excessive thirst, excessive urination, extreme fatigue & weight loss. I'd say u could be having reactions to all the different medicines you're taking. Does the same doctor prescribe all of them? Do u get them all filled at the same pharmacy? Plus, the conditions you're taking the medicines for r more likely to cause u to feel ill. Also, feeling ill until u eat something usually comes more from hypoglycemia which is low blood sugar. If you're worried about diabetes though, have u doctor do a fasting blood glucose tolerance test. Then, u will know for sure. Hope that helps.

l think u absolutely do not have diabetes.. if u did, u would experience a sudden onset of symptoms that would be very noticible. You would be unbelieveably thirsty ALL the time, & urinate a great deal too.. among others.
Hyperglycemia? Not from ur symptoms.. Sores that wo not heal have nothing to do with ur listed possible ''diseases''. The only one that matches at all is HYPOglycemia & the feeling ill without eating.. but generally u would not feel ill, you'd be really weak & possibly pass out. l do think that the feeling ill in the morning is from all ur meds though.
l do not think u have a disease, however l do notice that u take a LOT of medications. l do not know what the reasons r for taking them, but, if possible, I'd advise u to cut back (obviously unless they've been prescribed for specific medical conditions).
I'd say just do ur best on the cutting back of meds, & relax a bit.. do not 'go looking' for symptoms.
If you're super worried, or any of ur symptoms start to get a lot worse, make an appt. with ur family doctor just to be sure.
Good luck!

It is hard to tell from what u wrote, not enough info. Feeling ill until u eat could be.

''Funkch.'' is answer is horrible, she is way off base. The symptoms do not start all of the sudden, as the disease does not start off of the sudden. She does not know what she is talking about. To me, ''.feeling weak & possibly passing out..'' IS feeling ill.

Bottom line, u do not have enough info. Get the pre-diabetes test & ask ur doctor about ur concerns. Like any other disease, catching as early as u can is important. You may be able to 'avoid' it if u r not yet Diabetic, but change ur diet.

Diabetes Type 2:

* Increased fatigue : Due to inefficiency of cell to metabolise glucose, reserve fat of body is metabolised to gain energy. When fat is broken down in the body, it uses more energy as compared to glucose, hence body goes in negative calorie effect, which results in fatigue.
* Polydipsia : As the concentration of glucose increases in the blood, brain receives signal for diluting it & in its counteraction we feel thirsty.
* Polyuria: Increase in urine production is the result seen when excess of glucose is present in body. Body tries to get rid of the extra sugar in the blood by excreting it through the urine. This can also lead to dehydration because excreting the sugar which carries a large amount of water out of the body along with it.
* Polyphegia : The hormone insulin is also responsible for stimulating hunger. In order to cope up with high sugar levels in blood, body produces insulin which leads to increased hunger.
* Weight flactuation : Factors like loss of water (polyuria), glucosuria , metabolism of body fat & protein may lead to loss of weight. Few cases may show weight gain due to increased appetite.
* Blurry vision : Hyperosmolar hyperglycemia nonketotic syndrome is the condition when body fluid is pulled out of tissues including lenses of eye, which affects the ability of lenses to focus resulting in blurry vision.
* Irritability : It is one of the sign of high blood sugar because of the inefficient supply of glucose to brain & other body organs, which makes us feel tired & uneasy.
* Infections : Certain signals from the body is given whenever there is fluctuation of blood sugar (due to suppression of immune system) by frequent infections of fungal or bacterial like skin infection or UT l (urinary tract infection).
* Poor wound healing : High blood sugar resists the flourishing of WBC, (white blood cell) which r responsible for body immune system. When these cells do not function accordingly, wound healing is not at good pace. Secondly, long standing diabetes leads to thickening of blood vessels which may affect proper circulation of blood in different body parts.

Good luck``
